Exploration of the Development of Data Science and Big Data Technology Major

Abstract

As an emerging interdisciplinary field, the Data Science and Big Data Technology major holds profound significance for societal development. This paper explores the importance of this major and the challenges it faces, including incomplete curricula, weak practical teaching components, and a shortage of faculty. In response to these challenges, strategies and suggestions are proposed, aimed at promoting the continuous development of the Data Science and Big Data Technology major and enhancing China’s international competitiveness in this feld.
