Abstract
In the context of the new curriculum reform, a notable discontinuity exists in chemistry instruction
between junior and senior high schools. In frontline teaching, Grade 10 students generally struggle with
the conceptual progression of redox reactions, and existing research lacks multi-dimensional analysis and
assessment to guide instruction. Based on the Rasch model, this study constructed a three-dimensional
transition system encompassing knowledge, ability, and competency, and developed an assessment instrument.
The instrument demonstrated an item reliability of 0.87, good fit, and acceptable reliability and validity. A
controlled teaching experiment was conducted with Grade 10 classes of similar academic backgrounds. Data
showed that the experimental class achieved significantly higher transition levels, with a statistically significant
difference from the control class. These findings indicate that the Rasch model-based three-dimensional
transition system is scientific and feasible, and that transition-focused instruction can bridge the discontinuity
between educational stages and enhance students' comprehensive chemistry competency
